Short Lived

Discarded, recycled.
This is my 2nd life
folded neatly by a child
precise in my form.

I extend my frail wings
to the tune of flight
of the mayas above
until the ends of the cheap telescope.

Be free, what's more for me?
To the puffy, soft and light serenity
in colors of blue and white
lie, rest to the comfort of dreams

From white to the land
caught sight of the ground.
Sharp. Short. Quick.
to the hands of my master kid

me, the paper plane.

Love found and Love lost

I didn't look for love
It found me.

I was just living my life
Not knowing how it will come to be

Then that feeling came
No, it broke free.

If I thought I was a lock
Then this someone is the key

It was as if I was blind before
But now I can see

Every time I see her smile,
I seemingly act like crazy

Every moment I spend with her,
I'm instantly in glee.

I'm in love.
*****

I was in love
But it's now all over.

At first, it was a good find
A treasure that I discovered.

But it wasn't the greatest thing
It just looked so nice from the cover.

Knowing that she didn't accept me,
My sadness is beyond measure

I'd like to move on but I can't,
For she left a massive splinter

In my heart; now I regret,
I begin to falter.

I wish I didn't let it happen,
Love just made me sober.
*****

I was ready to feel, I was ready to love,
But I didn't knew I would just lose it all in the end.

Slowing Down

Moving forward way too fast
We dream of things that might not last
We dream of things that keep us bound
Waiting for purpose to be finally found

Hopes get trampled on the ground
A cry for help, but there's no sound
A lot of things that we have missed
The time to stop we must resist

But slowing down is not so bad
The things you’d find, you would be glad
There’s more to life than you would think
So don’t just lose them in a blink

Something we must always know,
Everyday has a lot to show
So slow down and look around
See the view and hear the sounds

There’s always something new to see
Find new things with such beauty
There’s always hope in little things
Enjoy the things that life still brings

Encounter things that are yet to be
Come across a discovery
There’s this hope that’s always there
So just slow down and don’t despair

Pagluha sa Ulan

Ulan
tumulo na
tumutulo na
tutulo pa

Luha
tutulo na
tumutulo pa
ako’y pagod na

Sa ilalim ng ulan
Nalaman ko na walang katapusan
Ang bumabalot na kawalan
kahit pilitin mang kalimutan

Sa iyong piling
natutunan kong pigilin
Ang taimtim na kasiyahan
dahil alam kong walang patutunguhan

Sa pagtulo ng luha
napagtanto ko na para itong ulan
Mahuhulog kahit kalian
Di pumipili ng oras, di ka titigilan

Kailan ko malalaman
kung kailan titigil ang ulan?
Para naman maibsan
ang bigat na nararamdaman

Waiting Shed

Ngunit kahit anong iwas mo
Nababasa ka pa rin
Nakita ko sa iyong mukha
Na bagot ka na
Kakaantay sa bagay na parang hindi na darating
Na tulad ko ikaw din ay gusto ng lumisan
Buti pa nga ang ulan
Saan man pumatak ay may patutuluyan
Eh tayo?

Hindi ko mawari
Ang nasa isipan mo
Tulad ko ikaw din ba ay naghahangad
Makauwi
O nais mo lamang makaalis
Sa gutter na nagmistulang langit
Sa imbyernang hatid ng tubig baha
Wala naman talagang patutuluyan
Nais mo lamang ay lumisan
Sa kung nasaan ka man

Gayunpaman parehas tayong
Nagaantay ng sundo sa purgatoryo
Langit man o impyerno
Hindi ko rin alam kung saan ako patungo
Hindi natin alam,
walang may alam
Tanging ang ulan lang
ang may alam
Ng daloy ng mundong ating tinitirhan

Alaala sa Tag-ulan

Bumaba ng langit ang ulan
Nagpaalala ng kalungkutan
Sa lahat ng nakatingin
Sa kawalan at hangin

Ang ulan ay masakit
Parang mga karayom na maliliit
na tumutusok sa katawan
ng taong iniwan

Ang ulan ay mahapdi
Parang asidong kumukulti
Pag naalala ang pait
ng taong pinagpalit

Ang ulan ay nagpapapalala
kung sino ang iniwan at nang-iwan
kung sino ang sinaktan at nasaktan
Ito ang alaala ng tag-ulan

Cheerleading

Only one foot on the platform
I cannot sustain my balance, for long
Wee hours of desperation
I try out my last consolation
Only to discover
The people who believes in me
Are the ones who make me strong
Without their hands below
I cannot rise, and spread my arms
With proud glory and valor
And if I fall
Their compassionate arms would be there
Waiting for my frail body
To be caught
and to make me believe I’m still alive
for the next formation.

Incendio

Fire is made with either sticks or stones.
It bends with the wind and dances to the sky.
A creation that defeats the infinite cold.
A power that rejuvenates the sun-dry.

A being that illuminates the darkness.
A craft that bends all forms.
It is the product of two
and burns all things when aloof.
So don't let it flicker all on its own
for even candles could burn down a home.

United Mind, United Heart, United People

This issue of disunity have been existing long before the first man existed. Lucifer, the most beautiful angel, rebelled against God, believing that he too deserves the glory. Thus, this was the first and the oldest rebellion in the history of Heaven. Lucifer, now Satan, was hurled to hell along with the angels who were corrupted and because of this, the disunity between God and Satan was born.

The same issue still exists in the lives of Men. Whether it is war or a simple quarrel, both are products of disunity. Knowing this, how can man overcome something that existed before him? Or is it too idealistic to pursue the battle against disunity? We have to trace the roots of disunity and by doing so, we will find ourselves examining the minds and hearts of Men. What is in the minds and hearts of men that causes disunity? Or should I ask, what is the state of Man's heart that causes disunity? It is chaotic. Ever since the Fall of Man, the minds and hearts of men have been chaotic. Distorted and confused. If disunity starts from the inside, same goes with unity. In order to fight disunity amongst people, man, should first face the battles in his own mind and heart. If Man manages to unite himself with God then it is the only time that he will be able to fight against disunity. He whose mind is stayed on God will be kept in perfect peace. There is inner peace. Inner oneness. Inner unity. A united mind, united heart will eventually result to united people.

The Only Crew

Relations in turmoil
Tempers at boil
Downward fatality
I’m in a jumbled spree

Physical exhaustion
And mental frustration-
results when trusted mates cease
and I am obligated to finish

Dazed in frazzled calamity
Beating the nearing deadlines
Oh the crucial times
I wish for unity

Initium

Savoring every breath
From the joys of solemn repose
That even dreams dwell
In realities imaged
So perfectly photographed –
A paradise abundant of
Tranquility and solitude,
An invisible horizon
That parts us from trials
Of our earthly demise -
Nothing else is too wanted
Than to wake at the open of the dawn.

First Gleam of Dawn

There are many things that I ask
Many of these concerns my task
These concerns are seen in one's heart
And one of these is: a Fresh start

For a student who failed a test
For a teacher who passed the rest
For a farmer whose crops got swept
What is a fresh start to those who wept?

The blossoming of the flowers
The rising of strong towers
The golden rising of the sun
and its rays urging to run

I kept on thinking: What did I do?
To deserve this chance, noble and true
A chance of a better life
A chance of not holding a knife

Now, then, what is a fresh start?
It happens not in the head but in the Heart
to rise and rise again
like the First Gleam of Dawn

Alive in Delight

Say it aloud
give it a start
beyond explanation
a celestial formation

Run from on hold
see it unfold
Cut endless frustrations
and useless restrictions

Past the ambivalence
disremember the regret
Hide not in discreet
for you’ve got a new beginning to live

Hunger

How do you quench
A thirst
That goes beyond ages
How do you a feed
The mouths of the undead
In drought I call for rain
And as it drenches the crops
It litters the soil with its love
Only to find myself
Still looking
For one thing I shall never have
For when the dawn
Eats the day, I feast
On stale bread, crumb by crumb
Like caviar for the poor
I wish for more
More.
The mouths are many
The plates are empty
When hunger drives man not his soul
How does one live by the meal they eat?

A New Leaf

Another page of the story has ended. Time flew fast last year. We may not notice, but every minute that passes by screams “the end is near…” maybe not of our lives but of the bonds we can share together. Time slowly turns the laughter into memories, those that are worth remembering and can be kept forever. They say, “No goodbyes, just see you around…” though, would this statement keep you away from the loneliness you are subject to feel during the time you are apart from each other? Would it suffice the everyday need of a company allegiant enough to listen to your everyday cries? I think not. Everything fades away like fog under a rising sun. We may not believe, but it is true enough that nothing is meant to last. Departing from those whom you spent almost your entire lifetime is difficult. A lot of words may sound great but may not seem like one. The word vacation, it is a partial rival. This simply tells us that we are slowly getting closer to the feared moment of leaving past and again destined to paint on a new canvass. Death is not our enemy, time is. It is slowly stealing away precious moments meant to be spent with those we appreciate the most. Therefore we must remember, employ your time wisely while you still can. Don’t count every minute in a day, make every minute in a day count and make sure to make the last, last. Live life, make a change, turn-over a new leaf.

Finding Life

When time is spent and gone
all have been said and done
all that is left is few
and one seeks what is true

in toil and slumber
even in days of summer
man finding his true peace
to walk this earth with ease

one's heart is beyond cure
who can make it pure?
man looks up to heaven
and gives the life he's given.

to lose life is to find life
to lose life is to a full life

Super Flight

Secure a step
Unravel in your head
Once only an imagination
now you’re in transition

Unnatural body
of hyper strength
and genuine element
in heart’s content

Potentials on hold
let your fears dissolve
Take the lead and replace
to fill the constant space

So brave your way
find the time
Free inhibitions of the mind
and let the superhero in you

decide.

Hero

The first one to early rise
And glares at darkness and demise
Then the last one left that still stands
Light and hope he brings and grants

Seizes his identity with no denial
He endures every hardship and every trial
For filled with passion that clearly reeks
He heals, defends, and saves the weak

Might cry or laugh at the price of folly
But has a sight for those in trouble and falling
He would hold out and cling for a moment more
And wait for the last moment to bitterly sore

With soul bent to a higher purpose and mission
He fiercely leads and fights with valor and vision
Knowing with knees bowed to the one Greater than he
The hero lives not for his own selfish glory
